Craig Venter remembers his reaction after he had successfully sequenced his own genome, questioning whether he would recommend the service to the public.

Venter founded The Institute for Genomic Research and was instrumental in mapping the human genome. He was listed on Time Magazine's 2007 and 2008 Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world. He discovered his ability to metabolize caffeine and predisposition to certain diseases through his genome sequencing.
